Reverend Myron O. Smoke was born in Wetumpka, Alabama, to Alice and Robert George. Reverend Smoke was baptized at the age of nine under the leadership of Reverend B. E. Moss at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Elmore, Alabama where he was ordained as a minister in 2001. There he also served as Youth Minister. He is well-known for his ability to disseminate the Word of God and help others reach their full potential in Christ.
As a youth minister, Reverend Smoke implemented a tutoring program, founded Community Changes Outreach Ministry. CCOM was responsible for sponsoring one of the largest Youth Extravaganza’s in the Antioch District’s history. On Saturday morning, Reverend Smoke was one of the voices of the Cry for Help Radio Broadcast Outreach Ministry at WAPZ 1250 AM in Wetumpka, Alabama from 2000 to 2008. The Cry for Help Ministry team hosted numerous seminars and conferences in the surrounding counties.
Reverend Myron Smoke is married to Cynthia Smoke and is the father of four children. He graduated from Southern Technical Community College in 1991 with an Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. Reverend Smoke also completed courses at Montgomery Bible Institute and Theological Center majoring in Pastoral Care. He has received his Master's of Divinity at Birmingham Theological Seminary.
Reverend Smoke was called to serve as interim pastor at East Chapel Independent Methodist Church in Millbrook, Alabama where he served for one year. In March of 2007, installation services for Reverend Myron Smoke were held at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama where he is currently pastor. Pastor Smoke has worked diligently to “Rebuild the Family” of Jerusalem Baptist Church and has led membership attendance from approximately 45 attendees to an average of 150 faithful attendees including returning and new members. Some of his other accomplishments include organizing a Mid-Day Bible Study, a Youth Dance Ministry, and reorganization of the Missions Department to include Sunbeams, Red Circles, Crusaders, and Matrons and Missionaries.
Living by God’s promise in Acts 1:8 -But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth, Pastor Smoke is definitely “On the Battlefield for the Lord."
